A first set of 24 Preludes & Fugues (one in each key) was composed over a period of several years, with considerable revision, and replacement of pieces which did not satisfy me. I’ve now collected them into two books each containing 12, alternating major and minor keys and in general moving towards more remote keys in each case, but otherwise not forming any particular key pattern. As a taster, here are the Prelude in B minor and the Fugue in F sharp major; each is a computer generated mp3 file.
I can print copies of the two books for any UK based pianist who is interested. Please email me (see CONTACT page) if so.
I enjoy composing fugues so much that I embarked on a second set. This is still a work in progress but I’ve completed the first 12 (Preludes & Fugues 25-36). It remains to be seen whether I shall have enough ideas (and live long enough) to reach 48! In the meantime here are the Prelude in B major and the Fugue in E minor.
